BMMS PTSA Reflections Program 2024-2025

REFLECTIONS: IT’S ALL ABOUT THE ARTS


We’re thrilled to announce the 2024-2025 Reflections Program at BMMS!


This nationwide PTA initiative has inspired millions of students to express their creativity since 1969. Each year, students from across the country reflect on a unique theme and create original works of art that move through school, state, and national levels of recognition.

This year’s theme, “Accepting Imperfection,” encourages students to explore the beauty of embracing flaws and turning them into creative inspiration.


 

What is the Reflections Program?

The Reflections Program provides students an opportunity to:

  • Unleash their creative talents and let their imaginations soar.

  • Reflect on a thought-provoking theme and express themselves through art.

  • Develop critical thinking skills and showcase their unique perspectives.

  • Gain recognition for their efforts at school, state, and national levels.


Since its beginning, the program has celebrated over 10 million students and helped raise awareness about the value of arts in education.

How to Participate

All BMMS students are invited to submit original artwork in one or more of the following categories:


  1. Dance Choreography

  2. Literature

  3. Photography

  4. Film Production

  5. Music Composition

  6. Visual Arts


Entries are reviewed and recognized first at the school level, with winning submissions moving on to regional, state, and national competitions. The Accessible Arts Division ensures inclusivity by celebrating the creativity of students with special needs.

State-Level Awards

  • Outstanding Interpretation Honorees:

    • Onstage recognition at the California State PTA Annual Convention.

    • Artwork showcased in the Reflections Gallery.

    • Outstanding Interpretation plaque, award, and certificate.

  • Award of Excellence Honorees:

    • Artwork showcased in the Reflections Gallery.

    • Award of Excellence medallion, award, and certificate.

  • Award of Merit Honorees:

    • Artwork showcased in the Reflections Gallery.

    • Award of Merit medallion and certificate.


National-Level Awards

  • Outstanding Interpretation Honorees:

    • Recognition at the National PTA Convention.

    • Artwork featured in a traveling national exhibit alongside other National Award winners.
