This year, I had the incredible opportunity to attend the California State PTA (CAPTA) Convention, and one of the most memorable parts was seeing the incredible Reflections Program Showcase.
Across the exhibit space, student artwork from all over California was featured in a celebration of creativity, courage, and expression. From dance choreography and music composition to literature, visual arts, photography, and film production, it was truly inspiring to see the powerful messages and personal stories students shared through their work.
BMMS in the Spotlight! 🌟

We are so proud to share that one of our very own BMMS students had their work selected to be part of the state-level showcase! Seeing their art displayed among the state’s best was a proud moment for our school and a reflection of the incredible talent we have right here at BMMS.
Showcasing Every Voice
The showcase included thoughtful displays and interactive stations that highlighted a wide range of student work—from music to visual storytelling and written words. It was a powerful reminder of the many ways students express themselves, and how every form of creativity has a voice and impact.
One of the most touching parts of the event was the chance to write thank-you notes to student artists whose entries moved us. As we walked through the showcase, we could reflect not only on the talent displayed, but the stories and emotions behind each submission.
Why Reflections Matters
What stood out most to me is how the Reflections Program empowers students to express themselves in ways that feel authentic to them. Whether it’s through a poem, a photo, a song, or a painting—students are encouraged to share their ideas, identity, and emotions with the world.
This is more than an art contest—it’s a platform for students to be seen, heard, and celebrated.
Get Involved for 2025–2026

The new theme for next year is “I Belong”, and we encourage all BMMS students to participate—no experience necessary!
